The promo I worked today required me trying to convince people to allow themselves to be videotaped for a website/commercial/future-television-show. The topic of the video clip was heartbreak. Since this promo wasn't simply about passing out coupons or vitamins, I had to turn on the limited charm I have. Somehow, one of my interactions took a strange turn when I played into this guy's joke about heartbreak. I asked him if he had a story to share and he was like, "Yeah, why didn't you call me?" We joked a little bit and he signed the release form and did a video clip for us. About two hours later, he found me and said, "I forgot something." And when I asked him what he forgot, he said he forgot to get my number.
***Crickets***
Sorry guy. I don't think you're cute. I'm working this promo and I have to be nice to you, but I feel kinda bad... I didn't say anything.
The silence lasted a little too long and then he finally saved himself with, "I'm just kidding." Whew. I didn't really want to crack his face, but I know I still kinda did. *shrug* What was I supposed to do?
