divas in the moonlight

It's time for Girl Scout Camp again! Things got off to a rocky start because I'm a Bus Monitor for this camp on top of my Unit Leader duties. The bus arrived about an hour late so all my girls were already there waiting for me. I felt awful.

Anyway, my unit color is yellow and the girls decided that we should be "The Stars." I think it's cute.

One little girl in my unit is also a bus rider so she asked to sit with me on the bus. She's the cutest thing, olive skin and curly brown hair.

On the bus, we talked about a number of things, such as the Tooth Fairy and about why eating fruits and vegetables is good for you. She recently received $2 for a tooth. Inflation!!! I don't recall how much I received, but I want to say it was pocket change. Is $2 now pocket change or are little girls' teeth more valuable now than before? Hmm...

Another interesting topic that came up was religion. I'm not sure where it came from, but seemingly out of the blue, she said,

"God made us."

"Oh yeah? What else did he make?"

thinking "He made EVERYTHING."

"Where did you learn that?"

"Nowhere, I just always knowed."

It was pretty darn precious.

She is obviously one of my favorites, though she has some brat tendencies. She likes to take her time finishing things, so someone is always having to stay back with her or the whole group has to wait for her. Such a Diva... My other favorite so far is another little girl named Samantha. I'm not sure why I like her. She has a quiet demeanor, but not out of shyness. I think she is just very observant.
