I just found out some news about someone that I once was close to, if only for a moment in time. It involves drugs, money and the police. I think you get the idea. It's astounding how much a person can hide from other people, the face you choose to show and the facade that you have to keep up.
I had some idea of who and what he really was, but I chose to overlook those things and give him the benefit of the doubt. I questioned his character and I knew that I would ultimately regret any future with him, which is why I'm glad our relationship ended. I can't say I'm shocked at this information, I just can't imagine what circumstances I would have been in if I were still close to him.
