week in summary - the good

I don't know when my week became decidedly "good". Perhaps it was just a blur until Friday. Friday I got to see P for the first time in what seems to be awhile. We had a late dinner/snack at Panache and then stayed there for the rest of the evening. Well, Roomie and I stayed, and P went to Play for Tito's birthday party. I've never met anyone named Tito, I guess I missed my chance.

So, Roomie might have a Chinese boyfriend soon! She intrigued him with her Pocky offering and then impressed him with her Chinese vocabulary. I'm really excited for her and Friday was fun. Panache had an interesting crowd and HT-approved music, not the best, but dance-able. While we were out that night, P ran into one of her friends. Turns out, the friend wanted to get me drinks all night. It was kind of odd, and of course I didn't take full advantage of her offer because I didn't (still don't) even know her name! Her boyfriend was one of two guys which we deemed "the hip hop moguls" because they were wearing track suits and HUGE gold chains. They were all nice, but I think it was apparent that their agenda was just to floss. The DJ never played the current roomie theme song, which we requested continually, but I think we were satisfied, especially since a fight broke out at precisely the minute we were trying to leave.

I was worried that I would be too tired to be hype for the Clipse concert on Saturday night since I had to work from 1-9 that day, but work was pretty good. I took the middle school girls to hang out in Silver Spring. We went to the library for about 10 minutes so that one of them could get some reading material, then we went to Coldstone and enjoyed our ice cream on the huge astroturf lawn. We lounged there for a bit and then headed to Whole Foods for an early dinner. It was a peaceful day and pretty much all I could have asked for in terms of a Saturday afternoon (Ok... I had secretly hoped to go do the paddle boats at the Tidal Basin or visit the National Geographic Museum, but maybe another time...). It was relaxing for all of us, which was important since this girl had a concert to go to and those girls had an upcoming day trip to New York to save their energy for.

Anyway, the concert was a good time. We were standing directly in front of the stage. The Clipse didn't perform all the songs I had hoped for, perhaps next time we will try to make requests? We left about 5 minutes into the Mya performance and met Malice of the Clipse outside. He seemed really nice. He was drinking some hot tea since his voice was almost gone. When we took a picture with him, Kristin was crouching down a little bit and he told her not to, it was slightly embarassing since she was a little taller than him. Meeting him, however brief the interaction was, was definitely the highlight of the evening.

I haven't both weekend nights off since... I can't even remember! I'm glad that I got to enjoy it, although I am tired now. It is beautimous out and I hope that I can get myself together to go to the astroturf lawn and soak in some sunshine. There is another blog formulating in my head that needs to come out. Like my sneezes, my blogs come in threes(es... haha).
