I just finished the final book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I have had a secret addiction to the lives and adventures of the foursome of girls for almost two years now. I can't believe that it's over. I can't read about Tibby, Bee, Carmen and Lena anymore. The pants are gone, but their friendship lives on, as strong as always. Wow, even I have to marvel at my cheesiness here.
Reading about the importance of friendship always makes me so happy because I can't imagine my life without my friends. It's reassuring to think that you really do have others to lean on, that there are people you can turn to at any hour of the day to share your hopes and disappointments with...
The girls in the Traveling Pants complete each other. Their friendships with one another mold them and in an essence create their identities. I view my friendships in a similar way because I learn so much about myself through my friends. Sometimes I truly feel that I am nothing without them.
The end of the book seems to coincide with the end of my summer, or at least my lazy summer days. I start work on Monday. 9-5 (or something close to it), M-F. I guess it will be good to get some routine back into my life, not that I really have a choice.
New life, new book... what do I read next?
