the art of being mean

A boy approached one of the girls when we were out at the movie theatre. I tried to firmly explain to this child that my kid didn't want to talk to him and he said "I want to hear it from her." She promptly told him that she didn't want to talk to him. He didn't take the hint and he still attempted to talk to her! And then he was like, "Is it because I'm black?" This was strange on so many levels. I know that race is something that a minority becomes aware of early in life, but for him to up and pull the race card! And on a girl he was trying to talk to?? Maybe I left out the part that he was not cute. He was a dumpy kid. Whack, really. You can't pull the race card because someone doesn't want to talk to you! Sheesh. He probably won't ever learn and he'll probably have a chip on his shoulder for the rest of his life and increasingly pullt he race card. Stupid.
Anyway, I gave the girls a good lesson in being direct and unfriendly. I think it will prove to be useful. Its definitely a talent that comes into play for me quite often. Is that horrible? Perhaps I need to make a Chinese New Year Resolution about this.
